A school age group of children ages 5 - 6 years was out of ratio. Two caregivers were in the classroom with 38 children. The group was out of ratio by 4 children. This was corrected at inspection when the director assistant moved four children to another school age group.
This standard was evaluated and found to be out of compliance. The caregiver failed to physically intervene in the actions of the children that led to the child injury.

During my walk through, I observed a spray cleaing product under a sink that did not have a child safety lock. This product was removed. I also observed a mop bucket with water in a classroom where children were getting ready to nap. This was also corrected when the mop bucket was removed out of the classroom.
Based on interviews it was determined that children between the ages of 12 months to 3 years old are being placed in highchairs for up to 5 or 10 minutes as a form of discipline.
