This Privacy Notice explains how DaycareFacts.com collects, uses, and shares information when you use this website or contact us.
DaycareFacts.com is operated by Nicolaus Inc., doing business as D2CEBL, a Florida corporation.
The conditions for using the website are described in our Terms.
Public records
DaycareFacts.com displays and summarizes official childcare inspection and licensing records published by state agencies, local licensing authorities where applicable, and other public sources. Current coverage includes Florida, California, and Texas. Those records may include provider names, facility names, license numbers, publicly available addresses, inspection dates, inspection findings, source links, and related licensing information.
For California family child care homes, DaycareFacts.com does not display unavailable or private street addresses, precise coordinates, maps, or geocoding-derived location information.
We use this information to help parents and caregivers find and understand public inspection records. Original official reports and licensing authority records should be treated as the controlling source.

Information you provide
If you contact us through the website, we may collect the information you submit, such as your name, email address, and message. We use contact submissions to respond to you, review correction requests, investigate data issues, fix bugs, and improve the website.
Do not submit confidential information, sensitive child information, health information, payment information, or anything you are not authorized to share.
Information collected automatically
Like many websites, DaycareFacts.com and its service providers may collect technical and usage information automatically. This may include IP address, approximate location, browser type, device information, cookies or client identifiers, pages requested, referring pages, dates and times of visits, page URLs, submitted search terms, error logs, and performance information.
DaycareFacts.com custom analytics events may include search terms and search context, search-result counts, provider selections and public provider identifiers, provider city, county, and type, source-report clicks and related public inspection details, and contact-form start and submit events. These custom analytics events do not include contact-form field contents, raw source-report text, or generated-question text.
The website uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 for site measurement when the configured tag is enabled. Google explains how it uses information from sites and apps that use its services on its partner sites page and in the Google Privacy Policy.
Third-party services
We use third-party services to operate the website, process contact forms, measure usage, and host the site. These services may process information under their own privacy policies and security practices.
Services used include Formspree for form submissions, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 for site measurement, Google Gemini for offline generation of some Florida parent-question wording from structured inspection findings, and DigitalOcean for hosting. Some provider pages include embedded parent reviews and a map from Google Maps and Google Places. When you view one of those pages and reach that section, your browser loads this content directly from Google, which may collect technical information and use cookies or similar identifiers as described in the Google Privacy Policy linked above.
How we use information
We may use information to:
- operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the website;
- respond to contact messages, correction requests, and feedback;
- review public-record issues and improve the accuracy of displayed information;
- understand site traffic, usage patterns, and performance; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect the website from misuse.
How we share information
We may share information with service providers that help us run the website, such as hosting, form-processing, analytics, infrastructure, security, and support providers. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, or as part of a business transfer involving the website.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not accept payment from childcare providers to change inspection records, hide public records, or influence public-record summaries.
Cookies and choices
The website and third-party services may use cookies or similar technologies for analytics, security, performance, and basic site operation. You can use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Some browser settings may affect how websites work.
Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies such as _ga and use client identifiers to distinguish visits and sessions when analytics storage is enabled.
Google also offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Do Not Track and third-party tracking
DaycareFacts.com does not currently change its behavior in response to browser Do Not Track signals. Third-party analytics and tag services may collect information about activity on this website over time and, depending on their settings, may receive or associate information from other websites or services. Browser controls, cookie settings, and third-party opt-out tools may limit some of this collection.
Automated tools and artificial intelligence
DaycareFacts.com uses automated tools, including deterministic software rules, to organize, classify, summarize, and display information based on official childcare inspection and licensing records.
Florida provider pages include Questions to ask; some were generated offline with Google Gemini from structured inspection findings and source-linked context, then reviewed and imported before publication. California and Texas provider pages do not currently show generated questions. The live website does not call Gemini or another large language model when provider pages load.
Contact-form submissions and visitor analytics are not used as inputs for this offline question-generation process.
Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this notice. Contact submissions may be retained to respond and document correction requests. Technical and security logs may be retained for troubleshooting and protection. Analytics information is retained according to the configured analytics settings. Official public records and related source or audit material may be retained for historical accuracy and traceability. Third-party services may retain information under their own settings and policies.
When information is no longer needed, we may delete, anonymize, or aggregate it, subject to legal, security, recordkeeping, and operational requirements.
Children
DaycareFacts.com is intended for parents, caregivers, and other adults researching childcare information. It is not directed to children. Do not use the website to send us personal information about a child.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information handled through the website, but no website, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Privacy rights and requests
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction or deletion of, or a copy of personal information about you. You may also have applicable rights concerning sale, sharing, targeted advertising, profiling, or sensitive information. We do not discriminate against people for exercising applicable privacy rights.
You can submit a privacy request through the contact page. We may need to verify your request and may retain information when permitted or required for legal, security, recordkeeping, or operational reasons.
Requests concerning displayed provider records are reviewed against official source records. A privacy request does not automatically require removal of accurate official public records.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will post revisions on this page and update the date above. If a change materially affects how we collect, use, or share personal information, we may provide additional notice on the website.
