Higher concern: Child guidance
Report finding
This standard was evaluated regarding an investigation, and a violation was found. The caregiver did not encourage self-esteem, self-control, and self-direction during the discipline of children. The caregiver did not redirect behavior using positive statements. When children were overly active in the classroom, the caregiver grabbed and pulled on them instead of using positive statements to redirect the behaviors. In addition, this action did not teach children acceptable behavior and self-control. The caregiver did not teach children self-direction when the caregivers in the classroom withheld young children with challenging behaviors in a specific area without having access to active play or independent movement.
