5.1(A), Handbook: A screening must be conducted as a condition of employment. Level 2 screening as outlined in s. 435.04, F.S., is required for all child care personnel and includes a criminal records check (both national and statewide), a sexual predator and sexual offender registry search, and child abuse and neglect history of any state in which an individual resided during the preceding 5 years. Documentation of Level 2 Clearinghouse screening clearance was missing for child care personnel. Staff Requirements [SR]
Inspector notes
1 staff member did not have background screening on file. The staff member had not been screened at the time of the inspection. The staff member was also observed alone with a group of 5 VPK children at one point and then alone with 1 VPK child a few minutes later. The facility is being issued a Class I Notice of Violation. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE: 7.4.1(A), Handbook: Each personnel record must have a completed CF-FSP Form 5131, Background Screening and Personnel File Requirements, which is incorporated by reference in paragraph 65C-22.001(8)(b), F.A.C.
