The staff person admitted that she had been the only one there since the facility opened that morning. Two more staff arrived at the same time as CCLE. Technical assistance was provided to ensure that any time when the facility is open and one child is present there are two staff members on premise. A Class I Notice of Violation is being issued. - Upon arrival of CCLE at 8:15 am, the staff member present (C.M.) admitted that she had been alone with 12 children, including 3 infants. The correct ratio for this group of children should have been 3 staff to the 12 children. Upon arrival of additional staff members, the children were divided into smaller groups. At this time, a group of 8 children, ages 1 year to 3 years, were observed with 1 staff member. The correct ratio for this group should have been 2 staff to the 8 children. While on the vehicle, however, the child fell asleep and did not exit the van in Margate but instead returned to Lauderhill where he was left on the vehicle for an unknown period of time.
