At the time of inspection, the licensing monitor observed the VPK, 3's, and 2's classroom without a teacher present. When the monitor brought this concern to the attention of the teacher (C.L) and director (C.B) returning from the front office; C.L stated the 3's and VPK classroom teachers left for the day. The monitor informed the teacher, director, and program owner of the direct supervision requirement. The following ratios were observed after the director returned to the group and the teacher combined the 3's with VPK classroom: 2's 1:8 3's & VPK 1:15

Fencing, including gates, must be continuous and must not have gaps or opening larger than 3 inches that would allow children to exit the outdoor play area. The base of the fence must remain at ground level, and be free from erosion or build-up to prevent inside and outside access by children or animals. These areas must have at least two exits, with at least one being remote from the buildings. If an outdoor play area was approved for usage by the Department prior to the effective date of this rule, no new exits are required to be added to meet this standard.
