Staff-Infant Ratio (b) There shall be a ratio of one teacher for every four infants in attendance.(1)An aide may be substituted for a teacher when all of the following conditions are met: (A) There is a fully qualified teacher directly supervising no more than 12 infants; and (B) Each aide is responsible for the direct care and supervision of a group of no more than four infants. This requirement is not met as evidenced by Based on observation, record reviews and interviews, Licensee did not comply with section cited above. On 9/8/22, facility was out of ratio for having 22 infants with only 3 teachers, 1 teacher aid and the director present at the facility. This poses an immediate threat to the health and safety of the children in care.
Criminal Record Clearance) All individuals subject to a criminal record review pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.871 shall prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed facility: (1) Obtain a California clearance or a criminal record exemption as required by the Department. This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on observation, record reviews and interviews, Licensee did not comply with section cited above. LPA observed adult identified as S7 who were providing care to infants enrolled did not obtain criminal record and child abuse index clearances prior to working in the facility. This poses a potential threat to health and safety of children in care.
