- Operation of A Family Child Care Home (g) The home shall be free from defects or conditions which might endanger a child. Safety precautions shall include but not limited to: (4) Poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, firearms and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children shall be stored where they are inaccessible to children. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on facility tour, LPA and LPM observed an insect killer, a box of nails, a pair of scissors, and power drill in the back yard and accessible to children. Glass cleaner was observed in the drawer in the dining room. Outlets were not covered in the playroom and the living room. In the kitchen, knives were in the drawer and cleaning supplies under the sink in the kitchen, all accessible to children. which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
