Food Service (a) In child care centers providing meals to children, the following shall apply: (16) Pesticides and other similar toxic substances shall not be stored in food storerooms, kitchen areas, food-preparation areas, or areas where kitchen equipment or utensils are stored. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation, during the tour of the facility, LPA observed the licensee did not comply with the section cited above where 2 bottles of bleach, 1 box of ant killer and 1 can of raid was stored in the sink cabinets which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
Responsibility for Providing Care and Supervision (a) The licensee shall provide care and supervision as necessary...(1) No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time... Supervision shall include visual ... This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on interviews, the licensee did not ensure care and supervision of children in care since after-school staff did not realize a child had been left unattended in the facility transportation van for approximately 45 minutes, which posed an immediate risk to the health and safety of children in care.
Buildings and Grounds (a) The child care center shall be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in maintaining the wall of the school age classroom that has a hole and teh electric outlets located in the classroom do not have a childsafe cover which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
