Report finding: Operation of A Family Child Care Home (g) The home shall be free from defects or conditions which might endanger a child. Safety precautions shall include but not limited to: (4) Poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, firearms and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children shall be stored where they are inaccessible to children. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in that there is 1 rose bush that has grown so that it is partially inside of the children's play area. This rose bush has thorns on it, which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Report finding: Pool Safety (ii) (I) An alarm that, when placed in a swimming pool, will sound upon detecting an entrance into the water. The alarm shall be turned on and be in working condition during a facility’s operating hours while the swimming pool is not in use. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on the observation, the Licensee did not meet the above regulation which poses an immediate safety risk to the children in care. During the facility tour the Licensee was unable to get the pool alarm to work properly. The Licensee tossed the life saving ring in the pool to cause waves and the alarm did not sound. The only time the alarm sounded is when the Licensee turned the pool alarm upside down in the water. The facility is not ulitizing the pool cover it was licensed with.

Report finding: Administration of Child Day Care Licensing (c) The family day care home shall maintain documentation of the required immunizations or exemptions from immunization, as set forth in this section, in the person's personnel record that is maintained by the family day care home. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on the record review, the Licensee did not meet the above regulation which poses a potential health risk to the children in care. During the staff file review the LPA was unable to review the DTap vaccination for S2.
