Safety precautions shall include but not limited to: (4) Poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, firearms and other items which could pose a danger if readily available to children shall be stored where they are inaccessible to children. (A) Storage areas for poisons, firearms and other dangerous weapons shall be locked. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. LPA observed a firearm in a box, equipped with two latches and two keyholes. LPA observed the box not to be locked. With the licensee's own omission, they do not have keys to lock the box, which poses an immediate safety risk to persons in care.
