Buildings and Grounds (g) Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that could pose a danger if readily available to children shall be stored where inaccessible to children. (1) Storage areas for poisons shall be locked. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in that there were 6 items that stated "call poison control" on their label. These items were in room 3 and room 6 in a latched cabinet and the items were inaccessible to children. However the storage area did not have a key lock or combination lock, which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Lead Testing (1) A licensed child day care center, as defined in Section 1596.76, that is located in a building that was constructed before January 1, 2010, shall have its drinking water tested for lead contamination levels on or after January 1, 2020, but no later than January 1, 2023, and every five years after the date of the initial test. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on the interview and record review, the Licensee did not meet the above regulation which poses a potential risk to the children in care. During the facility record review the LPA reviewed a Public Notice for Water Service Line testing dated November 26, 2024. However, the Licensee stated the facility never had water testing on any of the faucets.

Responsibility for Providing Care & Supervision (a) The Licensee shall provide care & supervision as necessary to meet the children's needs. (1) No child(ren) shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time, except as specified in Sections 101216.2(e)(1) and 101230(c)(1). Supervision shall include visual observation. This requirement was not met as evidenced by staff statements of sending a child to the restroom alone while staff continued to supervise napping children. In addition, staff observed the same child with wet clothing but was unable to determine how it occurred.
