Operation of A Family Child Care Home (g) The home shall be free from defects or conditions which might endanger a child. Safety precautions shall include but not limited to: (10) A baby walker shall not be allowed on the premises of a family child care home in accordance with Health and Safety Code Sections 1596.846(b) and (c). This requirement is not met as evidenced by: During the tour of the home, LPA observed an excer-saucer in the outdoor backyard area. Licensee stated that it is utilized when the children go outside for playtime. This poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Operation of A Family Child Care Home (g) The home shall be free from defects or conditions which might endanger a child. Safety precautions shall include but not limited to: (6) Outdoor play areas shall be either fenced, or outdoor play areas shall be supervised by the licensee Section 102417(g)(5). This requirement is not met as evidenced by: During the tour of the outdoor area, LPA observed a wooden gate standing on it's side, separating the left side yard from the play area for the children. This wooden gate was standing and kept in place with multiple long bricks standing up on both, the longer and shorter sides of it. LPA placed their hand on the gate and the gate easily swayed. The bricks as well as the unstable gate both pose an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Infant Safe Sleep (a) There shall be one crib or play yard for each infant who is unable to climb out of the crib or play yard. (3) Mattresses shall be firm and covered with a fitted sheet that is appropriate to the mattress size, fits tightly on the mattress, and overlaps the underside of the mattress so it cannot be dislodged. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation and licensees own admission, the two cribs kept for the infants in care did not have a fitted sheet on the mattresses. Although licensee has been keeping up with other safe sleep regulations, there were no fitted sheets that the licensee uses for infants that utilize the cribs. This poses an immediate health, safety/ personal rights risk to persons in care.
