Operation of A Family Child Care Home (g) The home shall be free from defects or conditions which might endanger a child. Safety precautions shall include but not limited to: (1) Fireplaces and open face heaters shall be screened to prevent access by children. The home shall contain a fire extinguisher and smoke detector device which meet standards established by the State Fire Marshall. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on the observation, the Licensee did not meet the above regulation which poses an immediate safety risk to the children in care. During the facility tour the LPA observed a fire extinguisher that was not fully charged. The Licensee stated she used it for a project with her family and did not know if needed to be recharged. Licensee stated she does not have another fully charged fire extinguisher in the facility.

This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on the observation, the Licensee did not meet the above regulation which poses a potential safety risk to the children in care. During the facility tour the LPA observed two children under the age of five and the facility stairs not barricaded.

This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on the record review, the Licensee did not meet the above regulation which poses a potential health risk to the children in care. During the file review of the Licensee the LPA was unable to review an EMSA approved CPR/1st Aid card.
