Buildings and Grounds (a) The child care center shall be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above where upon tour, LPA observed in Room #2 a countertop that is constantly wet, and is peeling upward and is in need of repair. This poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Fixtures, Furniture, Equipment and Supplies (f) Solid waste shall be stored, located and disposed of in a manner that will not transmit communicable diseases or odors, create a nuisance, or provide a breeding place or food source for insects or rodents. (1) All containers used for storage of solid wastes, including moveable bins, shall have a tightfitting cover that is kept on; shall be in good repair; and shall be leakproof and rodent-proof. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above where a trash receptacle was found that did not have a tight fitting cover. The receptacle itself had a broken lid which needed to be replaced. Additionally, there are recycle trashcans in use in every classroom; however, in Room #2, there was discarded food in the can with no lid. This poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
Outdoor Activity Space (d) The surface of the outdoor activity space shall be maintained: (2) Free of hazards including, but not limited to, holes, broken glass and other debris, and dry grasses that pose a fire hazard. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in that a toilet auger snake with bulb head, plunger and items needing disposal were accessible to children in the outdoor activity space which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
