The licensee shall permit the Department to inspect the family child care home, and to privately interview children or staff, to determine compliance with or to prevent violations of family child care laws or regulations. This requirement was not met as evidenced by on 05/15/26 at approximately 9:42 a.m., LPM and LPA knocked on the front door. At 9:44am, LPM called the licensee’s phone number and left a voicemail. At 9:48am, LPM observed Child #1 alone inside the home. In the rear side of the home, LPM knocked on the glass sliding door and identified and announced herself and no response. At 10:11 a.m., the licensee opened the door after knock and noticed from Salinas PD. This poses an immediate risk to the Health, Safety or Personal Rights to children in care.
