Operation of A Family Child Care Home (g) The home shall be free from defects or conditions which might endanger a child. Safety precautions shall include but not limited to: (1) Fireplaces and open face heaters shall be screened to prevent access by children. The home shall contain a fire extinguisher and smoke detector device which meet standards established by the State Fire Marshall. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on LPA Calderon observed Fire extinguisher was observed with receipt 6/23/24, not within 1 year, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in [1] out of [1] fire ext. reciept of purchase which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

LPA stated to place in an off limits area and in addition garage is a day care room and reminded Licensee garage is not to be used for eating or napping and reminded Licensee child should receive safe, healthful, and comfortable accommodations, furnishings, and equipment. LPA observed napping children in garage, 2 were sleeping and napping equipment was set up for the other children, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in [2] out of [2] safety and healthful accomendations for children which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Personnel Requirements (c) The licensee and other personnel as specified shall complete training on preventive health practices, including pediatric cardiopulmonary resuscitation and pediatric first aid, pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1596.866.
