Operation of A Family Child Care Home (g) The home shall be free from defects or conditions which might endanger a child. Safety precautions shall include but not limited to: (1) Fireplaces and open face heaters shall be screened to prevent access by children. The home shall contain a fire extinguisher and smoke detector device which meet standards established by the State Fire Marshall. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation service tag is dated with last inspection on July 22, 2024, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in [1] out of [1] fire extinguisher not up to State Fire Marshall standards which poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

102416.2(a) Reporting Requirements (a)The licensee shall report the following information the Department by telephone or fax within the Department's next business day and during normal working hours (8am to 5pm). The requirement was not met as evidenced by: based on interviews conducted with Licensee admitted that she did not report incident that occurred on 07/14/24 and police came to her home 07/16/24. Licensee stated she did not report because she did not that she had to. Per Licensee, staff is qualified but but paperwork is in the garage. This poses a potential risk to the health and safety of children in care.
